Saturday and Sunday of Valentines Weekend was warm and sunny. The nice weather brought huge crowds to winter events across this area of the state. Red Arrow’s 36th Annual Fish A Ree was no exception as record crowds packed the Townsend Town Hall both days and made the event a huge success.
The big crowds enjoyed raffles, music and lots of good food. Club President John Brantmeier wants to express a great big thank you to all the club members who worked at the event and the many businesses who contributed prizes for our raffles. Almost every business from Wabeno to Mountain helped us and we appreciate their help…return the favor by shopping locally!!
The winner of the $500.00 of gas from Townsend Shell was Steve Buly of Hartland. L. Baryebruch of Newton won the shotgun from Pintsch’s Hardware and the $100.00 gift certificate from Mikes Supermarket was won by Larry Rummel of Wabeno. $100.00 Savings Bonds from Laona State Bank and Citizens Bank were won by Kim Wenningen of Hubertus and John Brantmeier of Townsend. The $50.00 gas cards were won by Merlin Kropp of Green Bay, Tom Kroll of Townsend, Brandon Frazzini of Suamico, Jim Raddant of Shawano and Kenton Langman of Manitowoc.
With the warm weather lots of fish were entered in our two day fishing contest. On Saturday Burr Pawkow caught the largest Walleye, Bekkah XXXXXXXXX the largest Northern, Donald Nelson the largest Bass and Warren Mittastade the biggest Panfish. Sunday saw Gordon Gust bring in the largest Walleye, Halley Braun the biggest Northern, Bob Wagner the top Bass and Tim Martin had the winning Panfish. The $100.00 grand prize for the biggest fish of the weekend was taken by Bekkah XXXXXXXXXX with her 4.82 pound Northern caught on Saturday. Second chance prizes were won by Keith Arendt, Bob Kochen and Trevor Champshire. Thanks to all the anglers who supported our event.
The informal Vintage Snowmobile Show was well attended. A large variety of old sleds were shown including a 1970 Snow Pak painted since new in the Green Bay Packer colors. An unrestored original, it was the hit of the show!!
A very nice event profit will help the Red Arrow Snowmobile ATV Club maintain their record of having some of the finest snowmobile and ATV trails in this part of the state. Thanks again to all who helped make this event such a success.
